Grahapravesham

Today was our new Home Grahapravesham (House warming).Yesterday was a rather hectic day, getting items, make last minute arrangments, bringing the pujaris home, checking out the flowers with the florists and so on.Once home, we were to receive our relatives who were travelling a long way in train and bus.

After some initial chit chats, I hit the bed at 1.30 AM and had to wake up at 2.15 AM, a very short time!
Myself, Mom and Dad reached by 4 AM to our new home where the pujaris were waiting for us to start the pooja.Pooja went on well, but made me cry!!..of the smoke from the homam..After some time, friends, relatives, masons, builder and all near and dear ones started coming and was good to see them all after a real long time...Breakfast was arranged from Anandas, a premiere hotel chain in coimbatore which consisted of Idli, Sambar, Tomato Chutney, Coconut chutney, Pongal, Onion Utthapam, Poori, alu masala,  Sheera...mouth watering??? it was so gud..!!

RODAS

It all started with the visting of Samuel, my manager from Paris to India, Dinesh, my collague who was leaving this week from the company, joining of 2 new guys in my team Asish and Nimish and me becoming the India Team lead for Release Management in my project. So, we decided to celebrate this with a small party and to catch up for the lunch together. The venue was left to me to decide and it had to be somewhere close to the office too.

After googling, reading reviews and dreaming of the on-coming food (free of cost), I striked upon RODAS which says "An Ecotel Hotel" as a caption, which I can't barely co-relate!!At 1 PM, we entered our car and in a few minutes came to our venue.Ambience was good with not much of the usual Mumbai crowds. There was a vast Lunch Buffet spread over which consisted of Veg/Non Veg.Once we all were seated, we were served with starters consisting of Chicken, Green Peas Kebabs and Stir fried Vegetables. As Samuel my manager was seated just opposite to me,I had maintain some eating etiqutte which I found to be terribly difficult :) Anyways, we had chats about the different cultures, religions, foods, traffic and the diiferent aspects of India and France.Samuel was saying how he was once duped by a shopkeeper at the Mumbai Airport once during his visit, when he had bought a single scarf for Rs.6500 which would have been only Rs.650.Meanwhile, our main course had already started in between.Though my head was shaking to the conversations going on, my mind and soul were fully dedicated to the sumptuous food and my plate was overflowing with all Non veg dishes which I could possibly see.It was time to hit the desserts. There were varieties of pastries, puddings, Drinks and so on.

Ended with a happy note of Samuel paying our bill.

L to R: Samuel, Dinesh, Nimish, Asish and myself.
